Parents have a shared responsibility for their children. Most often children benefit from having regular contact with both parents regardless of the parents’ relationship.
Supervised Visitation and Exchange Services are for the benefit of children that may not have safe, conflict-free contact with one or both parents without the intervention of a neutral person.
Without local options and clear guidelines, parents and courts may make decisions regarding visitation that are not best for the child(ren). Now with a local, professional and safe option, our community has more choices in making child-focused decisions.
Often it can be difficult to know what decisions to make. In 2011, the New Hampshire’s Governor’s Commission on Domestic and Sexual Violence Subcommittee on Visitation provided comprehensive guidelines and recommendations for visitation. Specifically they provided a document titled Criteria for Visit Recommendations that can be very helpful for our local community in making child-focused recommendations and court-orders.
