Amber Brown is a Licensed Professional Counselor in the state of Texas. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in psychology from Oklahoma Wesleyan University and a Master’s degree in Mental Health Counseling from Lubbock Christian University.
She has been working in the field of social services and mental health for over 12 years. This has included the StarCare MHMR Specialty, the foster care system, and at an inpatient psychiatric hospital. She has treated clients with an array of mental health disorders, such as depression, anxiety, PTSD, trauma, and bipolar disorder. She also has experience working with athletes who need assistance in overcoming mental roadblocks that affect game day performance. Her personal experience as a starting forward all four years of collegiate soccer, gives her an insight into this work. She is certified in Advanced Performance Psychology from Grand Canyon University. As an intern with a traveling softball team she helped the girls overcome mental barriers and improve their ability to manage the pressure of elite competition. This resulted in a turn around from a season of 8W:6L to 10W:4L. Amber specializes in child and adolescent therapy, trauma. She is EMDR trained through the Parnell Institute and will be EMDRIA trained and working towards her EMDRIA certification by the end of 2025.
