Therapists and Staff

Choosing a counselor is one of the most important decisions you can make. You want someone who is caring, knowledgeable, and accessible; someone willing to take the time to listen to your concerns and treat you as a person, not just a client. At Cari Foote & Associates, we understand this and will provide you with professional and solution-focused treatment to help you reach your goals.

Cari Foote obtained her MA in Counseling Psychology at Lesley University, Cambridge, MA in 1989 and her professional counseling license in 1992. She is a Licensed Professional Counselor Supervisor and Licensed Marriage Family Therapist Supervisor and a Certified EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) and EMDR Consultant in Training.

Ms. Foote's clinical experience includes a solid foundation in mental health treatment of children, adolescents and adults, abuse assessments, family intervention and court recommendations; consultation and training of medical professionals in psychosocial issues and directing domestic violence and sexual assault services. She frequently testifies as an expert witness in child abuse, domestic violence and sexual assault cases.

Ms. Foote specializes in individual treatment of children, adolescents and adults with issues of trauma, anxiety, depression, general mental health, abuse, domestic violence, pregnancy and postpartum issues. She is a full member of EMDR International Association and has attended many advanced EMDR trainings and consulted with internationally acclaimed EMDR professionals. She is Co-Chairwoman of the Highland Lakes Suicide Prevention Taskforce under the umbrella of the Highland Lakes Health Partnership.

Ms. Foote is originally from Kansas but has long-term family ties to the Hill Country. She has been in private practice in the Marble Falls since 2005 and she has been raising her 2 boys in the Hill Country since 2002.

I realize that there are a lot of therapists out there and it would be refreshing to find one who is unique in some way or different from the "masses."  I believe that I am such a therapist. I have over 16 years of clinical experience and have worked with virtually every type of client. My clinical experience includes individuals, couples, adolescents and families.  I have worked in outpatient and inpatient settings as well as jails and prisons. I am comfortable working with any client from any background.  My areas of specialty are Depression, Anxiety, Bi-Polar Disorder, Addictions, Trauma, Grief and Loss, Domestic Violence and LGBTQ issues. I strive to work with clients to help them improve their interactions with others and to establish better relations with significant others, friends, family and co-workers. Please allow me to help you meet your goals.
